The Chicago Collection

That toddling town! Meandering through the windy city not so long ago, I was struck by how very blue it looked...especially with the skies reflected in the facades of the (post) modern buildings.

So when I found a bead shop on Wabash, I sought only darling blue. If you like what you see...$20 for one pair, or $40 for all three. Wowsers.

With much respect to Daniel Burnham, the white city is no more.

Goldmine

You like the gold? I've been told you like the gold. These ones are mine, but I want to share them...so I’ve expanded this line. Now they can be yours too. Sharing is good, my golden palominos.

Necklaces, etc.

I make necklaces. Sometimes bracelets too.

But for the most part...earrings are what you'll find here.

Vintage

Vintage Charm. These sweet earrings remind me of the olden days when Mom and I would wake up long before the chirping birds to pick fresh apples. And then we'd bake a pie from scratch.

That might be a fib...though we did have a scraggly crab apple tree behind the garage. Still, these are delectably retro. Not all beads shown here are true hand-me-downs from grandma vintage, but don't they look it?

Funk

Funky Gems.

Make my funk the P-Funk. I wants to get funked up. These earrings are not for the timid. They're designed for the life of the party.

Are you that funky giraffe who prefers perilous safari chases to lazy days spent poolside? If so, you deserve some Funky Gems.

Three's Company

Three beads. Just three beads.

There is something to be said for the number three. Something like, oh, I don't know...

"Come and knock on our door, We've been waiting for you. Where the kisses are hers and hers and his, Three's Company too."

A classic sitcom. A classic pair of earrings.

Mama Nature

Petal plucking. He loves me, he loves me not, he...oh, who cares!

There are plenty of flowers to choose from in this garden. Jecca Bee digs this nod to Mother Nature's sweet pollen. And so the song goes: Swaying daisies sing a lazy song beneath the sun.

Swarovski

Swarovski Crystals.

Oh. So. Sparkly. Sure, diamonds are a girl's best friend, but Swarovski crystals are the ones she shares her secrets with. And they've got panache to boot.

These crystals come in plenty of colors and sizes. I only wish they were more photogenic...they dazzle when the cameras aren't around.

Disco

Disco Dynamite.

Everybody was kung fu fighting. Well, everybody except for you. You were doing your own thing - ripping up the dance floor, just like Ted in that hi-larious flashback scene in Airplane. Surely I can't be serious. But I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

Who knows...these '70s inspired earrings may even create the effect of a disco ball spinning when you hit the dance floor twirling.

Plain Jane

Plain Jane Jewels.

Who says plain is boring? Baloney. These Plain Janes are perfectly simple. I value simplicity in nearly all walks of life - earrings are no exception. With that, a haiku:

Plain Jane, they giggle.
Plain is better than gaudy,
You have the last laugh.

Bloom and Gloom

Ladies and gents, please welcome Bloom and Gloom, two gems I’ve designed to hit the streets with flavor. If skulls aren't your style, these choice flowers might sweeten the deal (and they come in a bunch of colors).

Update: I am fresh out of skull beads. (Sigh)

Sass

Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is the sassiest of them all? You are. Is it obvious? Probably, what with those smart numbers dangling from your earlobes, that cheeky smile. (Oh, but she wears it so well!)

The Sass line is good at stirring up trouble.

Tropical

Tropical Splashes.

Mele Kalikimaka. Sure, it's not Christmas, nor are these gems Hawaiian, per say. But they have a nice tropical look to them. Don't you agree?

They make me long for a cool, refreshing mai tai. Or perhaps something served in a coconut, with a cocktail umbrella. Oh pool boy!

*Gift Certificates*

Attention shoppers: Gift certificates are now available! Oh me, oh my. The perfect treat, except of course for those who wear clip-ons. Certificates are $25 per pair.

May 5, 2007

Hello.

Hey folks, that's me...and my fluffy orange monster pet, Marmaduke VonLollibop.

The above photos are just a taste of my creations. Let me know what colors and styles you like, and I'll run with that. The hardware is all sterling silver or gold. Prices start at $20 a pair. I accept cash or personal check or, in rare instances, dark chocolate. Please take heed, won't you: Since the earrings are made to order (like a hot and crisp french fry), some of these beads may not be readily available.

For questions or to place an order, email me at jberta [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thanks for looking,
Jecca
